When I’m All Alone And How I Come To Terms With It

Once in awhile my husband goes out of town for business. Not a lot, but I always miss him when he’s gone.

My poor pooches miss him too.  One of them lies on the doormat by the back door for hours, just waiting for him to walk through that door.  That is so sad.  But cute.

In the past I always really hated it when he left town.  It’s only usually for 3 or 4 days at the most, but that is a long time to not be around your favorite person in the whole world.

Uh-oh! But then my Frugal Frontal Cortex started popping. That’s the highly developed Tightwad section of my brain.  Not everyone has this, but a CT scan I once had revealed that it happens to be tightly enmeshed in my own particular grey matter. It looks like this: $$$$.

This is what occurred to me: when my husband’s not here, his company is paying for his living expenses.  They feed him, lodge him, and transport him.  For three or four days, he’s completely FREE! Thanks, Job.

Well, even so, I’d rather he was home with me and the kids.  But Frugals are nothing if not “glass half-full” type of people.  So at least I can put this positive spin on events.
