Today I Stretch Myself As An Artist
Sometimes it’s nice to try new things. So I’ve decided to tap into the Oversoul, grasp some Artistic inspiration, and unleash it on the World.
Today is the Worldwide Debut of my new Artistic Series called “dog in mullet”.
Here’s the first entry. It’s a little something I like to call: “farley in a mullet: intimations of immortality”*.
Here it is:

I like to think this is definitely Art, and what’s more, Great Art. Art serves many purposes: didactic, political propaganda, flattery of important people, historical, memorial, etc. etc. But Great Art just Is. That’s the purpose of my Art - it just Is.
I can see that this new series has great blog potential. I could start a new blog called “dog in mullet” and go around asking perfect strangers if I can put a mullet on their dog, take a picture of him/her, and post it on my blog. Whooo! I don’t know if I’m ready yet for such an enormous jump forward as an artist, but if any of you out there want to do it, feel free. I got the mullet wig at Target for $9.99. But that was around Halloween-time last year, so you may have to wait until then if you really want to do it.
How does this tie in to being Frugal? Well, actually in one of my favorite ways: using what you have to accomplish some goal. I’m using my pooches, a mullet wig, and the creative juices I siphoned from the Oversoul (that’s free) to branch out artistically. I didn’t go to Aaron Brothers’ Art Mart and spend an arm and a leg to set myself up in some new hobby I might not enjoy. But this I enjoy. And it’s cheap.
Allow me to leave you with one last thought (sung to the tune of The Smiths’ “Girlfriend in a Coma”)**:
Farley in A Mullet
I know
I know
It’s Serious
