The MAN Sticks It To Me

As I mentioned before, since I owed money on my federal taxes this year I waited to the very last minute to submit my return.  Yep, there I was at the Post Office on the morning of April 15th, sending it off.  Ok, maybe it wasn’t the very last minute, but I wanted to be sure that it was postmarked the 15th.

As I’m writing this it’s April 23rd.  And guess what - I see today that “they” have already cashed my check.

In a way that’s good.  Another checked-off cleared item on my checkbook register.  I like the tidiness of  that.

But, wow, that was fast.  I know the times when I’ve been due a refund I sure as heck haven’t received it within eight days of sending in my return.

The government must really need money.  I think this is the fastest one of my checks to them has ever been cashed.

Well, that’s the Man sticking it to me.  Here is Me sticking it to myself (possibly): On the Camaro front, my husband got an email that the local Chevy dealership is having a sort of Camaro open-house this Saturday.  They just got one in. He wants to go see it in person.  I’m not sure that’s such a good idea, as I always seem to walk out with a new car even when I just go “look” at them.  Plus, I only have $240.21 in the Fund, which is not nearly enough.

BUT, if we can manage to go in, take a look (maybe a test-drive), and walk out in a Camaro-less manner, that would be a fun, cheap thing to do on a Saturday.  Hmmmm. Who am I kidding? I can’t even resist a .50 Twinkie.  I’d better just stay home.
