Major Announcement Today That Will Bring Me Peace

So when did we last meet?  Thursday or thereabouts?  Yeah, it’s been a long time for me too.

This is what I’ve been up to: I’ve been mostly giving my house a good, big clean.  This has to do with my major announcement.

Drum roll, Maestro………

I’m going to start working again!  Yes, me, the world’s laziest housewife is shortly to join the ranks of the gainfully employed.  So I wanted my house to be nice and tidy and organized so I can give a lot of attention to my job.

This is what I’ll be doing: writing!  So what has brought me peace is that I can FINALLY prove to all those mockers, doubters, and Business Majors out there that an English Degree is indeed marketable.  Of course I never really doubted it myself, but it’s good to be able to prove it to the rest of the world.

This is good news to me, my husband, and my Camaro Fund, but what does this news mean to the people who REALLY matter?  - that is, YOU, my Dear Readers.

Well, to be honest I’m not entirely sure.  I have a feeling, though, that it means that I will be posting a tad irregularly.  However, I think this new situation will also add an interesting new zing to my blog.  After all, it’s much easier following the Lifestyle when time constraints are not an issue.  We’ll see.

In other interesting news, I read an AP (I think) article online yesterday that said that the FTC is going to begin “going after” bloggers who review products, and don’t reveal that they are being paid for the review.

This was an interesting article.  It makes me wonder this: WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING WRONG!?  I wonder this because the article said that some bloggers are given free (deluxe) cruises, paid $3,000 for 200 word posts, and all kinds other cash and free samples all for a kind word from a humble blogger. Hello World!!! Here I am - a Humble Blogger!

Heh heh, ok,  I understand why the FTC is concerned.   I sometimes do say I like things or don’t like things, but these are all things I’ve paid for myself and used myself.  So please FTC - don’t come after me.  Plus, look around.  No ads here!

But that’s not to say that I’m feeling morally superior to bloggers who do take advantage of these perks.  Mostly I’m just feeling jealous. The only thing I get out of this blog (besides happiness, of course) is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.  Many people, including my dear husband, have (ahem) accused me of writing posts that are too long.  But as the man says,  I gotta be me.

P.S. I hope everyone had a great Father’s Day.  I don’t think my Father did.  Some wacko held my parents’ next-door neighbors hostage with a gun.  Then the SWAT team came and knocked on my dad’s front door and told him he and my mom had to evacuate (at 1 am).  Then the SWAT team rushed the hostage house….and the gunman got away.  I hope my gift of Applebee’s Gift Certificates can make up for all that crazy drama. I’m not so sure, though.

P.P.S.  But, yay!, nobody was hurt!
