Looking For Love In All the Wrong Places

At least that’s what it feels like sometimes when I go land-hunting.

I see a picture of a property on the Internet.  I immediately LOVE it.  When I actually go to visit it in person it is all WRONG WRONG WRONG.  Wrong house, Wrong location, Wrong for ME!

I’m telling you,  people who take pictures of properties for sale are very talented.  They really know how to photograph them to their very best advantage, even when they don’t have much going for them.  I hope they make lots of money, because they deserve it.

This is what happened yesterday on our landhunt.  Even so, I’m not discouraged.  I know that there’s the perfect little farm out there, somewhere, just waiting for me. Plus, I’m not in any hurry.

dsc01697Even so, we did come upon two interesting possibilities.  One prospect is 30 acres, with a small, but nice and clean, manufactured home on it.  This one is off a dirt road and is really out in the country.  It even has a large pond (or maybe it’s a small lake? - that’s a picture of it) right outside the front door.  There are trees everywhere, and it is quiet.  Nice, but maybe that’s a lot of land for two suburb folk. The sellers are asking $199,000 for this paradise, which I think is pretty good for 30 acres.  But I think I can do better than that.

The other candidate is 10 acres, completely fenced.  I really like that because of my dogs.  They can run around freely without my worrying about them getting out.  This property is off a quiet paved road.  There is a nice two-story house with a two car garage that has guest quarters over it.  This property is out in the country, but very close to its nearest small town, which is nice for a suburb girl like me.  The sellers are asking $184,500.  Hmmm. A little better, but I will keep looking. (Sorry, forgot to take a picture).

Well, the hunt goes on.
