It’s Tuesday, And I Am Back
Monday was apparently a Frugal holiday. So I hied myself to the mall and went on an INSANE spending spree. No time for frugal blogging, you see.
Heh heh, just kidding. Time just got away from me, but don’t worry, Frugal Hordes, it did NOT get away from me at the mall.
All-in-all my weekend was very interesting, Frugal-wise. Finished up some great books that did not have anything at all to do with saving money, but were nevertheless interesting from a money point-of-view. Money is certainly powerful and fearful, and maybe I will tell you about these books someday.
I did these things, too: made “bacon” (from tofu, delicious) and served a meatless TVP concoction to my husband for dinner (he’s pretty sure there was no meat in it, but he doesn’t really know what to make of it since I refused to give him the ingredient list. He said he liked it and went back for seconds, so that is good).
I received the last of my birthday presents, too, which was very exciting. More to come on that.
Also, I am contemplating a giveaway. My first. Since it is my first, it’s comparatively modest, but interesting I hope.
As many of you know I am a solar cooking devotee. Nature at the moment is refusing to cooperate (very rainy and/or gloomy lately), but that is neither here nor there. I still love it. Recently I ordered two additonal solar cookers in order to expand my outdoor cooking horizons.
Each cooker comes with everything needed to get started, including literature - two pamphlets. One pamphlet describes all the ins-and-outs of solar cooking, and the other is a small recipe booklet. If your intrigued by solar-cooking, but don’t know where to start these two sources are great. They really do tell you all you need to know about the process.
These are very modest, stapled-in-the-middle, pamphlets, which means they will be cheap to mail. Yay! (That also means: don’t be disappointed if you’re expecting the magnum opus of solar cooking).
If you’re interested leave a comment. So I think I will take names until this upcoming Saturday. I’ll write the names down on a piece of paper, and pick them out of a hat on Sunday. I’ll get the winners contact info through the email address that is left in the comments (which of course I won’t publish! The email address I mean, not the comment).
If there are no takers, that’s ok too. I always say, the more stuff I have to read, the better. So good luck, future solar cookers of America. We who are about to solar cook, salute you!
