Frugal Pampering
Sunday is a good day to indulge in a bit of cheapo beauty treatments. The following comes from my sister’s friend Juliette. She says I owe her a penny from my Camaro Fund for this valuable information, but heck, nothing’s too good for my readers.
Here’s what Juliette has to say in her own words:
“The main two I have been trying are, the mashed green grapes. Just mash and rub all over face to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Love it and sweet too.
The other is, I mix oatmeal with a little water till it turns pasty, add a bit of honey and shredded cucumber. I let it sit for at least an hour and then rub the sticky liquid on my face and let dry. Totally removes excess oils and face feels soft. If your skin feels dry add milk instead of water - huge difference. I just rinse clean with water..no soap.
You have to do it for at least a week to see the full results. I try and alternate by doing pure cucumber shreds one day then the oatmeal mix the next, then pure grapes & oatmeal the next day. So far so good..my face is not as blotchy looking and the dark circles under my eyes…for the first time in forever are not as prominent.
FYI: Cucumber mix saves for at least 3 days…after that make new batch…the more “live” the ingredient the better
Another good remedy to remove excess dry skin from face is to add baking soda in your usual face wash every other day and rub in circular motions. Use only every other day as baking soda can also be a bleaching agent. “
I haven’t tried any of these yet, but they sound good to me.
I don’t know Miss Juliette, so I don’t know if she’s a card-carrying Frugal, but if not, she sure has a lot of potential in that direction!
