Daily Frugalities
Every morning is a new chance to be Frugal. So I try to do at least ONE new Frugal thing a day. This isn’t always easy, though, because I spend most of my day being frugal already.
But this weekend I did manage to squeeze in one completely new and one -sort-of-new Frugal actions.
I made my own yogurt and I made my own granola.
Yogurt was a completely new dealio. Details to follow.
Granola was something I’ve done before, but haven’t done in quite a while. In fact, it occurs to me that it is totally unnecessary to buy boxed cereal when I have the makings of this low-cost, super easy alternative sitting on my pantry shelves.
The other thing about home-made granola is that it is pretty dense. That is, it seems like an itty-bitty serving really sticks with me, as compared to five cups of super-processed frosted flakes. I added my homemade granola to my homemade yogurt, and it kept me going a long time.
I made at least a good six cups of the stuff. This is going to last me a good long while.
Here they are:
What a cute couple. (I even put my homemade yogurt in a recycled yogurt container.)
