Credit Cards Are Bad, But Sometimes Good Things Come of Them
My birthday is in April, and I just got an early birthday present from my go-to department store, Kohl’s.
I like Kohl’s because I can almost always go in, get exactly what I want, and get out. Everything at Kohl’s usually goes on sale sooner or later. I never want to pay full price for anything, if I can help it.
I have a Kohl’s credit card, so that entitles me a few times a year to up to a 30% discount on a day’s purchases (if I use that card). Combined with a good sale, that is a hard deal to beat.
Of course, if I use my Kohl’s charge card I pay it off immediately. I’m talkin’ - I go straight home, go to my computer, and pay the whole thing off right then. I don’t want to take a chance that the pleasing effect of sale + 30% discount will be eroded by evil evil finance charges. That would defeat the purpose, after all.
So because I have a Kohl’s charge card, they sent me a gift card for $10.00. It is valid the whole month of April. I already know what I want to use it for. I’ve been waiting for just such a money-saving opportunity.
I was going to buy these anyways - a new pair of New Balance walking sneakers. My current pair are pretty ratty. So I will keep an eye out for a good shoe sale, then combine that with my $10.00 gift card. If I use my charge card, I can probably get an additional 15%-30% off on top of those two things.
Hee hee hee I am so wiley.
