Chocolate Chip Cookies For Life
In Texas we like things big. Here is a picture I took of Big Tex at the Texas State Fair last September. Why did I take it from behind, you ask? Good question.
Yesterday I was filling up my smaller, pantry-shelf flour container from my big bulk 25 lb bag of flour. I was doing this a cup at a time, which went a little slow.
As a die-hard reader, I have a habit of perusing everything in my vicinity, especially when I’m doing things I don’t have to concentrate on. So my eyes fell on the back of the flour bag. I’d never noticed it before.
Woo Hoo! I found the GREATEST chocolate chip cookie recipe ever. It’s the greatest because it is the most ginormous I’ve ever come across. In my life.
I think if I made this one time, and froze most of the end product, I would have enough chocolate chip cookies to last me the rest of my life. I really love chocolate chip cookies, so maybe not, but this would make a lot.
Maybe this would be a good recipe for all you Once A Month Cooking devotees out there. I’m not sure how it would be mixed up, because this baby requires one heck of a mixing bowl. Here it is, courtesy of my 25 lb flour bag (purchased at Sam’s Club):
Chocolate Chip Cookies Large Batch (Ha! That’s what it actually says. I don’t know why it’s so wobbly. Sorry about that.)
14 lb Packed Brown Sugar
10 lb 10 oz Sugar
15 lb Margarine
2 lb 6 oz Eggs
7.5 oz Vanilla Extract
25 lb All Purpose Flour
5.5 oz Salt
4.5 oz Baking Soda
22 lb 12 oz Chocolate Chips
4 lb 8 oz Chopped Nuts
Cream sugars and margaraine. Blend in eggs and vanilla, Add flour, salt, and baking soda. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
I don’t know, maybe you could stir things up in batches, and then combine all those batches in a big tub. Man, that would be fun! Someday, maybe.
