Bean Counter
Here is the final tally for the first Bean-A-Palooza of 2010:
20 cups of pinto beans (made from 4 or 5 cups dry, I forget exactly)
10 cups of big limas (from 1lb dry)
8 cups of baby limas (from 1lb dry)
8 cups of red kidney beans (from 1lb dry).
I froze 2 cup portions in quart-size Ziploc freezer bags. The above are approximations, because I wasn’t being exact when I scooped the beans out of the pots.
Is this a year’s supply, I wonder? Hmmm. We’ll see.
